Despite this early exposure, Skye's initial interests lay elsewhere, leading him to pursue studies in Computer Science and Mathematics. He played varsity baseball at university and aspired to become a video game designer, eventually working as a senior web developer for a small education startup.
It wasn't until Skye embarked on a personal journey toward better health that he began to appreciate the significance of his father's work. Through discussions with Jeff, Skye learned that many products in the functional mushroom market were misleadingly labeled, containing primarily grain-based mycelium rather than actual mushrooms. This realization highlighted a gap in the market for authentic mushroom supplements.
Motivated by a desire to provide consumers with genuine, high-quality mushroom products, Skye founded Real Mushrooms.
